Missing the sunset by the river in Nongkhai, คิดถึงเวลาพระอาทิตย์ตกที่ริมฝั่งโขง

The rainy season has started early this year in the north-east of Thailand. This helps cooling down the heat from 37 degree Celsius to about 30 degree. All the plants and trees breath a sign of big relief from the extremely hot season.

I like the quiet atmosphere by the river while the sun is slowing setting over the sky in Laos. More rain means more water flowing down from China and Laos. Fishermen would be able to catch more fish coming with the tide and the river would be full and more powerful. This evening walk is really like a meditative or contemplative moment to reflect on life and its travails. Just like the river, life is full of mixture of so many things running from small streams to gather into a big mass of water with dynamic power. It takes wisdom to know how to channel this soft flow of power into nurturing energy to sustain life. Watching the sunset makes me willing to let go and accept the present as it is. So, I try to live life to the best of my ability each day and be grateful for what I have. If possible, I would send out compassion to the river to heal the oceans and all creatures within and around the world.

ตอนนี้ฤดูฝนได้เริ่มแล้วที่อีสาน ฝนตกบ่อยมาก ทำให้อากาศที่ร้อนระอุเย็นลงมากเกือบสิบองศา ต้นไม้ดูผ่อนคลายจากหน้าร้อนที่ดุเดือดมากในปีนี้ ทำให้ต้นไม้ที่ปลูกใหม่ตายไปหลายต้น ข้อดีของฝนคือจะมีนํ้าไหลมาจากทางจีนและลาวมากขึ้น และจะมีปลามากับน้ำด้วย ชาวประมงก็จะจับปลาได้มากขึ้น การเป็นอยู่ก็จะดีขึ้นด้วย ระดับนํ้าในแม่นํ้าก็จะสูงขึ้น ทำให้ดูมีพลังมหาศาล เราขอบเดินดูพระอาทิตย์ตกริมแม่น้ำ เป็นเวลาของการทำสมาธิและ ทบทวนสิ่งที่ผ่านมาในขีวิตแต่ละวัน ชีวิตก็คล้ายกับแม่น้ำที่เป็นที่รวมของสายน้ำมาจากลำธารเล็กๆมากมาย จนมารวมเป็นลำน้ำสายใหญ่ที่มีพลังมากมาย การนำพลังนี้ไปใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับสติปัญญาของแต่ละคน การดูพระอาทิตย์ตกดิน ทำให้เกิดอุเบกขา และความเข้าใจตลอดการยอมรับความเป็นอนิจจังของชีวิต เราจึงพยายามใช้ชีวิตอย่างมีสติ ให้ดีที่สุดในแต่ละวัน
