Happy women's day ....but ponder on this for a while.....

I saw this and I thought I should share

Yes, its International Womens Day! It is nice to have a day set aside for women. We do a lot to make this world go round and have come a very very verrrrry looooong way. Can I just say; the notion that the woman plays second fiddle to the man is as true as the wicked lie that the white race is the most superior in our wold.

You woman, living in today’s world; serving in the army, driving a car, running a country, sitting pretty in that judge’s seat, building houses and roads, flying planes, owning your operating room or you studying to become something you have chosen freely…You are the dream of women who fought for the freedom you enjoy without a thought.

We have come a long way and have a long way to go. The oppression we face from the systems was and is still real. You find it when your boss singles you out of the group to ask if you can manage a task he assigned to men also. You find it when your male colleagues are invited into important meetings and you are not. You find it when your male colleagues continually try to speak over your voice, as if your contribution carries no weight. It is almost funny how subtle our oppression can be at times.

We as women should always work together to make this world more kind to us don’t you think? Due to the oppression we face we should come running in support of each others efforts ALL THE TIME. But no, no, we instead contribute a great amount to our own oppression…Earlier today I saw on social media accounts of amazing women I follow posts celebrating Women’s Day. It was nice….nice but confusing for me. Confusing because these women the rest of the 355 days of the year tend to tear other women down.

Why is it woman that when you find another woman who does not quite fit into your frame of what a woman should be you tear her down?

Here is the thing…humans, all of us are different. Tolerance has kept our race going now for how many billion years again? We all have the freedom to choose how we want to live our lives, as long as we are not harming anyone by our choices.

Yes in your eyes you are morally upright, smart, intelligent, have achieved a lot and so you are better qualified than her! The thing though is, to someone else you are all wrong! Simple! Just like she is wrong to you. You are wrong to someone else.

Not everyone shares your ideals or ways of thinking and a mark of being a decent human being is accepting this. You might be the sweetest cherry in the world and there will still be someone who does not eat cherries as they say.

I am all about choosing to be positive (work in progress). Even when I do not understand or agree with a different thought or way of life. I try to find a polite way to state my differing opinion or say nothing at all. Positivity is attractive. FACT!

So have a think about it woman…instead of choosing to point out how your sister-in-arms is failing to fit into your mould of what you and the system think she should be…Try peeling her, peel away the layers she has put on herself because of the oppression we face. What you will most likely find is she is just like you…trying to make a way for herself as every other human on this planet is.

Walk your talk woman! Check yourself if you praise your male friends for having game and shame your female friends for doing the same….As a human be kind, as a woman be a sister-in-arms all the time.
