Much articles mentioned Trigona Bee Honey as a super food due to its medicational values. Because of its honey demand, many farmers in Sabah participate in this project as an additional source of income. Most farmers are in the rural areas, and cultivated these bees on their own land such as rubber or fruit trees farm .

THE SYSTEM
The contract farmers under Rural Development Corporation (RDC) SABAH are mostly from the northern region of Sabah. This agency provide all the input in credit which will be deducted from their sales. The balance will then be paid to the farmers.

The farmers welcome such forward contract since they are guranteed market, instead of selling thier products through middlemen.

THE PRODUCT
In a way, the farmers are thankful to the final consumer of honey as indirectly helped them to gain income that could uplift thier standard of living. To RDC they appreciate the program designed to them. We can support the rural farmers by buying the pure honey product under Borneo Honey Bees brand at competitive price. The product undergo stringent quality control during processing at Borneo Honey Bee Centre at Sikuati, Kudat.
