Small Flower 小花

Flowers help beautify our environment, without which, the world is very different. However, a small flower though insignificant can deepen our insight.

Looking at the flowers we can learn to appreciate beauty. There are different species of flowers, and every flower is unique in terms of its colour, shape, size etc. You don’t need be a botanist to learn something from the flowers. The key is to begin with an attitude of appreciation.

Beside appreciating the beauty of flowers, we can also gain some insight from the transient nature of the flowers. A flower can blossom but usually it may be for a short time, ranging from just hours to a number of days. The Bible does testify,
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

The flowers may be insignificant, but they often provide significant contribution beyond the notice of many people. Without the flowers, there would not be natural honey. When we enjoy drinking honey today, should we not be thankful for the One who created the flowers?

花的确有助于美化我们的环境，没有了花的世界就会大不相同。一朵小花虽然微不足道，却可以幇助加强我们的洞察力。

透过观看花朵，我们可以学习欣赏。不同种类的花即是颜色、形状、大小等都是独特的。你不需要成为植物学家才能从花中獲得知识，而关键则是从一个欣赏的态度作为开始。

除了欣赏花的美丽，我们还可以从花的短暂性质领受到人生的功课。一朵盛开的花通常是有时间性即从几小时到好几天不等。圣经如此宣告:「你们哪一个能用思虑使寿数多加一刻呢？何必为衣裳忧虑呢？ 你想野地里的百合花怎么长起来；它也不劳苦，也不纺线。 然而我告诉你们，就是所罗门极荣华的时候，他所穿戴的，还不如这花一朵呢！ 你们这小信的人哪！ 野地里的草今天还在，明天就丢在炉里，神还给它这样的妆饰，何况你们呢!」

虽然花可能微不足道，但它们往往提供了超出许多人注意到的贡献。没有花，就没有天然的蜂蜜；当我们今天享受喝蜂蜜时，我们豈能不感谢花朵的创造主呢？
