Happy Valentine all!!

Since it's a special day, I would like to share one of the most romantic book I ever read. It's a story of heartbreak and loss, about love and moving on, bettering yourself.

It started with a girl named Brooke met a guy, Jake during University time, married him and move to another city to follow her husband who just got promoted in a Legal firm. Brooke have a dream of opening her own dance studio but put it on hold because according to her husband, she only need to take care of their house and him. Such a chauvinistic husband huh..

Since they move to Melbourne, her husband behaviour change. They hardly ever go out together anymore. Then one evening, she was looking forward to spending time with him at his office Christmas party. There she met Logan, Jake's big boss, who immediately smitten and couldn't takes his eye of her, but realizes that she's married to Jake. Jake who has been distant lately, left Brooke at their table leaving her to converse few word with others while Logan can't help himself to secretly stole glances to her. Brooke gets sick during the party and went to find her husband.

Poor Brooke then finds her husband making-out with his secretary in the parking lot. She then gets seriously ill and fainted. Luckily, Logan followed her out, saw her fainted and took her to the hospital.

At the hospital, it was confirmed that Brooke was pregnant. She suffered pain because she was hemorrhaging and need immediate surgery. Logan tried to contact her husband, Jake, but his telephone was turn-off. Brooke had a miscarriage that night. Logan stayed to look after her all nite. The next day she was discharged. She thanked Logan for looking after her at the hospital and there they said goodbye.

Coming home, she confronted her husband about the incident she saw the night before. Her husband admitted his mistake and said that he was only playing around. Brooke was so hurt that she said their marriage is over. Suddenly, her husband become violent and choke her neck. She almost lost conscious. Luckily she managed to kneed him in the balls and Jake lost his grip. She run to their room and locked it. Jake tried to ask for forgiveness and when he didn't get any answer from her, he act violently outside damaging their house.

Brooke managed to leave the house and left Jake. She took a plane to Sydney and tries to get her life back together.

Jake who saw Logan's name card inside Brooke's coat confronted Logan in the office. He accused Logan of hiding Brooke from him. Jake and his secretary was sacked that day. Upon checking Jake's desk, they found a packet of cocaine in his drawer.

Eight months later, Brooke reconnects with Logan after he sees her jogging in the park, and falls in love with him, but Jake finds her too and doesn't want to let her go. He stalked, broke-in to her house and send creepy messages that sounds "I'm going to kill you!".

Logan do everything he could to protect Brooke, even hired a bodyguards for her. Jake managed to kidnap Brooke. Brooke beg him to let her go but Jake won't do so. He confessed that he was cheating on her two months before the night she caught him. He also confessed that he's been taking drug not long after they move in to Melbourne. Brooke begged him to let her go. Jake then suddenly acted violently and hit Broke.

Logan and his security team managed to save Brooke and in the process, Logan's uncle got shot and Jake killed himself. Such a tragic ending for a good man (in my opinion a self-centered man) turning to bad man due to drugs and cheating/unfaithful.

Brooke was so traumatised of the incident, but with Logan's help she overcome it all. She even went to see Jake's parent. In the end, Brooke found her new life with a loving and caring man. He made her dream come true aka opening her own dance studio. Logan proposed to her and she said Yes.
