You can join as a curator to introduce and highlight other bloggers. The 55 and below rep only applies to those who each curation entry is featuring.
So I couldn't feature you because your rep is 60 but you can feature two others each week whose rep is 55 and below. And if you win, you'll get the prizes.
Plus this Contest is a particularly good way to meet and be seen by a lot of other Steemians who will visit and support your blog. ;)

Every time you resteem you're curating, so you're already doing it.
This type is just to write a few words saying why you like the Steemian you're nominating, maybe add a little excerpt if you want then just giving the link to the post you want the visitor to go read.
You do that all the time in your posts. ;)
