Schlumberger is one of those few plants that are grown with love on the windowsills of urban high-rises, and village houses, and respectable cottages.

This plant is a radet eye bright blooms at the very beginning of the winter cold. My flower Schlumbergera bloomed in late November.

Schlumberger belongs to the genus of epiphytic forest cacti, its habitat is in the southern hemisphere, southeast of Brazil, mountain tropical forests.

Schlumbergera cacti grow in rainy tropics. At an altitude of 600-1500 m above sea level, the plant grows into the bark of lianas, in the form of compact bushes and grow into them.

Broken segments quickly form aerial roots, give rise to new specimens.Warm tropical rain periodically wets them for a while.

I gave the flowers some rain! 🙂💧💧💧

And yet, in most cases, plants live in rather dry conditions.

Plants have a genetic memory. After changing the latitude (transported to Europe), the plant continues to live according to the established cycle.
