LILAC SYRUP
(for two liters)

Ingredients:

1,5 liters water
10 umbels of lilac
2 pounds white sugar (1 kilo)
1 organic lemon
bottles for 2 liter syrup

Preparation:

  1. Pluck the lilac blossoms from the green branches and place in a saucepan.
    2)Wash the lemon well, cut into slices and add to the flowers.
  2. In a second pot boil the water with the sugar once until the sugar has completely dissolved and the liquid is completely transparent.
  3. Pour the sugar solution over the flowers and lemons immediately and allow to cool with a lid.
  4. Once the syrup batch has cooled down, let the aroma soak in the refrigerator for four days.
  5. Strain the flowers through a fine sieve, bring the syrup to a boil again and still hot in carefully cleaned glass bottles. I like to drink the syrup with mineral water and ice!
