PATRON SAINT OF THE DAY: For Hamar, Norway
The 8th of January is the feast of Saint Thorfinn of Hamar.
Living in the 1200's, Thorfinn protected the Church and the Diocese of Hamar from King Erik II - also known as the "Priest Hater". Made an outlaw by defying the King, Thorfinn lived the rest of his life in exile, eventually taking up residence at an abbey in Bruges, Belgium.
