RE: Perception of Morality

in #philosophy6 years ago (edited)

A recognition that moral is higher and therefor more desirable leads to a refusal to act in the lower world of immorality following the dictates of natural law. The fact that the higher moral recognition occurs in the same ghost of the machine as the lower world immorality in no way constitutes a contradiction.

Take apart our founding fathers quotes and you can see that they knew and reiterated the solution quite well.

Thomas Jefferson said: "I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education.

For those of us who subscribe to the higher moral imperative our duty is clear. We must bridge the gap created by the lower mentality and bring heaven to earth. "As above So below!"

Awesome and insightful post!

Indeed, not to rule over others, but help them rule over themselves, not external control by self-control.
