Every individual is unique

From a philosophical point of view, we human beings have unlimited potential due to our intelligence and also due to our will. We can know the reality and expand our knowledge in new unexplored areas, we also have the capacity to love and to choose what we really want, freedom is certainly one of the most positive qualities that we can enjoy.

In short, the reality of an individual is the opposite of the reality of a simple material object that is use for specific tasks. Each person is unique and unrepeatable, in short, a person can not be replaced by another one. This is what happens when a loved one dies for example, we feel a void that can not be filled by anything.

Nevertheless, there are some arguments that can prove nothing is actually unique, because if there is infinite time or infinite space, or infinite universes, then logic says there will also be infinite copies of everything that we can imagine, including ourselves, however, since this is not a science article but a short philosophical one, let just see individuals as unique based on the amount of things we will see in our lifespan.

There are situations in which a person can be disrespected and treated as an object. This is the case, for example, in friendships based on mere interest, on the contrary, in true friendships, we want the good of the other person and we are happy for their successes and we feel bad when our friend has a hard time.

Sometimes, there are situations in which we do not give the necessary attention to the other person. For example, when we walk near a church and see someone who is homeless and is asking for help, and we do not even look down to think about what that person may be feeling in that particular situation.

Indifference, at certain times, can be something very difficult to experience, therefore, there is nothing better than realizing the importance of treating every person as a unique individual based on his dignity, always and in any circumstance.
