"Get busy": why is internet-procrastination so dangerous?
Admit it, at least once in your life there was the moment when you sat down at your desk, all determined to get to work and… began to flip through, if not the pictures with funny cats, then the weird last week’s news ? And after that, of course, you had a small disappointment, remorse and, as a rule, a lack of any result.
Does it sound familiar?
Congratulations, dear friend, you are making progress in your procrastination.
According to all sorts of questionnaires and serious research uncles, more than half of working people cannot concentrate on the work process in time when they need it. Of these people, about 70% are distracted by their messengers, 20% - by mail and new social networks notifications, and some of the unfortunate persons from this list like different mobile toys.
The result is the same: zero productivity and +100 to self-disappointment and sadness.
What is the secret of internet-procrastination?
First, let’s gather some frightening facts and figures.
In one of the American research studies, scientists conducted an experiment among students at The University of California. The subjects just had to sit and solve tasks for half an hour. As practice has shown, rarely one of the students was able to surrender to the process, without looking at the gadget after 10-15 minutes. As a result, it reduced the quality of their answers by more than 20%.
And, Harvard University, in turn, published gloomy statistics, according to which there are more than 22 million internet-addicted people now only in the United States of America(!).
What is the reason?
May be in laziness, and reluctance to carry out the duties, or in common lack of education and self-control?
What to do?
There is a lot of space for fantasies. You can start from banal and unnecessary self-blame on your hands to block the hated sites with cats and social network, but is it worth it?
And you can try to «deceive» yourself. For example, when you sit at your desktop, try not to think about anything and immediately get down to business. The trick is to make it as soon as possible and preferably without long breaks, as you have limited time. And it should be done "not perfectly", but how it will turn out.
Finally, get rid of the idea that the boss will lynch you for the wrong comma in this table or that this unfortunate smear will ruin your whole picture MANDATORY. We are all human and making mistakes is a natural process.
In addition, do you know the situation when we delay our business, we start it reluctantly, but at the last moment?
That’s exactly when it turns out to do it "somehow", the timeline is greatly tightened. And in our case, you still have time to put the task in order and recheck it.
Take it.

You are so right. We need to be easy on ourselves for common mistakes like comma in the tables. Perfectionism also results in all this fuss without most of us even realising it.
Thank you so much)
