3 ways to control anger

The death of "the theory of catharsis". The Greek philosopher Aristotle (introduced the term "catharsis" as a method of liberation or purification from psychological stress) and neurologist from Austria Sigmund Freud were supporters of the fact that the person got rid of tension and sought emotional release.

The latter insisted that the suppression of negative emotions leads to nervous and mental disorders, up to hysteria. Sigmund Freud was of the opinion that it is more useful to throw out a strong anger than to restrain him.

But thirty or forty years ago, scientists who tested the idea of catharsis, did not find her real confirmation. These studies led psychologist Carol Tavris to conclude: "It is time to drive a stake into the heart of the theory of catharsis. A psychologist Gary Hankins writes: "according to the latest scientific data, spilling all the accumulated anger in accordance with the method of catharsis, you do not get relief, and further exacerbate the tension. This is equivalent to trying to put out the fire with gasoline."

There are three reliable ways to deal with your anger.

1 Weaken the power of your anger

To cool your fervor, stop and try to relax. Try not to say at once that strives to fly first from your language. 2 Learn how to remove stress correctly
