RE: What We Believe Matters

in #philosophy6 years ago (edited)

Yo this is lit, and I feel a strong sense of agreement with what you say. Conditioning and imprinting is a HUGE thing, and until we get a handle on this - and stop putting our young people through such a gauntlet of toxic information, then we will continue to have such a high workload for 'deprogramming' people or just losing them to weird sentiments that destroy life and well being.

And yes I agree that capitalism just aint working, yet somehow we have to make things work from within the context we are already in. Does it start with a more socially connected and morally involved capitalism? Or do we just begin new ways of living that don't even bother with it? I have seen some stuff on here about communities who are doing this! Garden of Eden for one, and also the fellowship for intentional communities. Exciting times to be alive, it's my hope that these kinds of sentiments start to go viral.

Good shit man

Thanks so much, @phillyc! :-) I'm glad you liked the post, and glad you took the time to write this great response ;-) Capitalism is the other Bible we live by, in my opinion at least, and it's going to take time for us to grow out of that. I don't believe in revolutions, but a gradual move towards ever more community based principles and rules, like you suggest, is the way forward I think. Start reclaiming the stuff that's important for everybody, like schooling, housing, medicare... Those aren typical community things, like the police and fire department to.

Thanks again for all the support, @phillyc, it's greatly appreciated :-)
