While voluntarism is ideal, I wonder at its feasibility. From recorded history, to small groups locally one interacts with, groups within groups always form seeking an advantage over the rest. Seems like there will always be greedy assholes looking to get over on others sweat and resources, and a majority of cowards who will back their play if they are left enough crumbs to maintain living.
