The legend about sea buckthorn

in #photo5 years ago

The Latin name for sea buckthorn Hippophae comes from two words: hippos - horse and phase - gloss, shine. And, as legend has it, the plant received this name after an unusual event.

In ancient Greece, revered horses. Old and sick animals that could not participate in battles were lowered into the wild. Then one day, several of the animals released earlier were discovered
eating golden berries. At the same time they had a completely healthy and blooming appearance.

Since then, the healing properties of sea buckthorn have made soft and silky more than one horse skin. People began to say that the sacred Pegasus was an admirer of sea buckthorn. It is thanks to the magical properties of the sea buckthorn that this wonder-horse could soar in the sky.
