Today I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite places: The Obersee.
One day I clicked through the internet and came across a picture where a small boathouse on very clear water stood, and in the background were the mountains. I was so excited that I made it my mission to find out where this boathouse is.
Again and again I found more pictures of this boathouse but without information about its location.
But as luck would have it, I one day found a photographer who had revealed this mysterious location! The Obersee. I Immediately Googled it, and my enthusiasm grew even bigger when I saw that it was right on the Königssee! Now the next weekend excursion to Brechtsgadener Land was secured.
It was raining heavily on the Friday arrived and to our disappointment, it didn’t get better on Saturday either.
We decided to go for a walk anyway but the rain was so heavy that we changed our minds about taking the much anticipated boat-ride on the Köningssee.
We had much luck on Sunday for it stopped raining and we were able to take the boat-ride to Obersee through the Königssee.

When we at last arrived our destination, I was totally overwhelmed by how amazing the nature was! I was overly intrigued to finally get to see this place in real life.
Heading back again with a stop between St. Bartolomä (earlier known as St. Bartholomew) a pilgrimage chapel on the west bank of the Königssee on the peninsular known as Hirschau.
In the past, it was possible for one to drive across a frozen Köningssee but this was stopped in 1964.
I found the place really nice and suitable for a weekend get-away. One can get there by bus, train or a car. The parking fees are modest.
Nice photoshots, those valley are amazing. Fog rose up from hillsides and only few man made structure appear in the woods. It will be a great spot for urban escape.

It’s ok, as I will be changing the rules for the next round to open for more photos. However, the project will take both image and write up equally important.
