Oh Cebu! Kawasan Falls

Kawasan Falls is perhaps the most visited tourist spot in Badian, a municipality southwest of the island of Cebu. Both local and foreign tourist find delight in taking time to trek the road and viewing the three-tiered waterfall system that is known for its beautiful blue-green waters.

Kawasan Falls is the jewel of Barangay Matutinao and the waterfalls are part of the Matutinao River System, dubbed as the cleanest inland body of water in the Philippines.

Kawasan Falls is reacheable by private vehicles or bus from the South Bus Terminal. The travel time is approximately 3 to 4 hours. Upon reaching Barangay Matutinao, a 50 to 30 minute trek will lead you the tiers of the waterfalls but if ever you get tired, take a break and relax. Enjoy the lush flora and fauna from the surrounding areas.

You have the option of staying in the first level of the waterfalls or you can continue to the second level. You can even climb the highest part known as Kabukalan or “The Source.”

Swim in the cool blue waters and be refreshed from all the walk you did beforehand. Kawasan Falls is the most famous destination for tourists offered by the town of Badian.
