Plastic waste has no place in the ocean, rivers or anywhere else in nature. And it shows how careless we are with where we dump our waste.
And let's not forget - plastic waste is visible and there is a lot more waste we generate which we don't see.
E.g. there are lots of synthethic substances that you can detect basically everywhere today, like EDTA.
Without waste reduction - or proper recycling - things will get worse.
Some of us live in places where recycling procedures are in place - it is important to also make use of them.
And as much as waste reduction will help, I'm often wondering how to convince and educate people who just don't give a damn.
I guess the best way is trying to be an example and lead the way.

Thank you so much for the re-steem! Just gave you a follow now so I can catch some of your stuff too. I agree - there are so many unseen pollutants in the environment these days. Asking people to change their habits, whether food- , energy- or waste-related, is tough! I'm not sure what difference what I do really makes in honesty, but it's the way I know how to convey the messages that hopefully can cut through a lot of the noise on the socials these days. Cheers!
