Isla Romantica :a man made island of dreams

Not well publicized ,no fancy utilities ,no travel award to brag about yet if given a choice Id go for this rusty man made island than the post resort a thrown away.Why?

One ,ita cheap.For a cheap boat fare of 15php per way one can enjoy snorkeling in the same pristine blue water and roll around the sandy white sand.

Two,it has an inspiring story behind it.Unknownst to many this island was the by product of a mans will to create something of beauty for his wife with the use if his bare hand and a non motorized "bangka" or fishing boat.For ten years this man gathered all those dead coral reef and stones and amass them until they become what it is now Isla Romantica ".Indeed every inch in this place is a by product of love.Imagine the many offers this man rejected because he wanted to leave behind a legacy to his descendants

In this life ,only few people impresses me.I would say I was impressed by the integrity of Manong Ben."Manong " meaning elder in Filipino.Impressed how he shares the beauty of the island considering he is wanting materially.Awed that he isnt easily enticed to sell off to buyers.And humbled that a man like him with not much education understand what it takes to be happy in this life .In my short talks with him,I realized that my favorite musician Bob Marley was right when he said ,"the greatness of the man is not in how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to
affect around him positively"

I am guessing he had endured a lot of coercion but for him not bowing down to it is very inspiring.I had heard that the local government had not settled yet his claims for ownership on this island. Yet I hope that social network will remedy that.I pray that eventually he would be recognized as the lawful owner

Third,I like the fact that its not too public.Because it can only accomodate a few visitors it gives you a certain privacy most resorts dont have.

Because there is no loud music or water activities to do other than swim on most times you end up chatting with others.In other beach this would be rare .So here am I making friends with others

Finally,its very clean.Waste management is good.People don not leave their garbage in the island.So as you can guess I went back to the city happy.

Indeed in this life ,there are many unnecessary wants and happiness is elusive yet equally true we need to be grateful to be able to find every bit of happiness that we can .Only when we fall in love with with life are we able to look past our troubles and enjoy what others consider as ordinary.

May you fall in love with life all over again .So make time to find yourself amidst the busy schedule.Turn off the negativity that surrounds you.And find joy in being in unfamiliar places from time to time as its in this places where you fund yourself and find what really matters.

Dream big dreams.Keep them in your heart.Remind yourself the greatness of this dreams when you find yourself weary.Stay true to them as no one will fight them for you.
