Chak Peak
Looking across at the summer landscape around the backcountry side of Chak Peak (2775m, 9104ft). Despite, or perhaps because of, the inhospitable nature of these desolate landscapes I keeps getting drawn back to them. Taken from Maccarib Pass on the hike out of the Tonquin Valley. Wow that is amazing! I am fascinated by this 2,775 metre mountain summit Chak is a name derived from the Stoney language meaning: "eagle".
When I was a child we went for a holiday with the family and went up to the The Zugspitze at 2,962 metre above the sea level. It is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany. It lies south of the town of Garmisch Partenkirchen, and the Austria–Germany border runs over its western summit.
