Independence Day in Chicago

A throwback to Independence Day. The giant flag in this shot is covering the Wrigley tower in Chicago. Harking back to simpler times and the great post war boom of the roaring twenties the Wrigley tower (completed 1921) was built by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr and is a fusion of french renaissance and spanish revival architectural styles. The neo-Gothic building across the road is the Tribune Tower (completed 1925) which was built to house the Chicago Tribune Newspaper back when Newspapers were large revenue earners.

@intrepidphotos! Wow this photo blew up in terms of author rewards! Any idea what the heck happened? It's a cool photo (looks almost like a model 3D puzzle), but can't be compared to your usual insane nature photos.

I saw smartsteem had an unusually high availability of votes so I grabbed them (as it is hard to pass up free money and promotion and the trending pages are screwed anyway). Hopefully you get a good curation reward because of it.

Ah I see. Didn't realize smartsteem doesn't use a delegation model... votes are coming from many accounts

They have both a direct vote market and a bot. I don't particularly like the design of the system here where you have to upvote your posts to compete but I am a pragmatist and an engineer and happy to play the game. I prefer a vote market over a bot as it somehow seems more democratic.
