Late November

I hope you enjoy these subtle colors of late autumn. The photos were taken at a small lake in the mountains north of my house. The lake is a couple thousand feet higher than my place, so it always turns to winter there a little sooner. Last week there was already enough snow on the road leading up to the lake that it was nearly impassible without a truck or four wheel drive. I'm guessing by now it is snowed in, and will only be accessed by the snowmobilers and native habitat.

It has been three or four days since the sun has shown, and with the low hanging clouds and fog it feels like dusk at three in the afternoon, and nearly pitch dark soon after four. We're all staying inside a little more this time of year. Rather than get too grumpy about it though, we just fire up the woodstove and pour another cup of coffee. Rural life isn't all that bad!

On another note, Steem activity and posting seems way down since the price drop of crypto the past couple weeks. On the bright side for someone who has kept posting regularily through the dip, Steem is a little easier to come by in the form of upvotes, curations, and photography contests. Like they say, "Steem on!" right?
