My brother asks rather poignant questions for the tender age of twelve, and I do not usually mind that. Even when it’s about my work, I know he only asks out of curiosity. Otherwise, I will pummel him.

“Why would someone buy that picture?” Initially, I felt at a loss, but my answer wasn’t a defense. “Someone would purchase one of my photos because they like it.”

That’s that. My goal is to provide novel, visual experiences to people, solely for their viewing pleasure. I know it seems vague, but I live by a certain restriction and pledge, and it reflects itself in my imagery. From that, I can make strides to provide provoking work again and again.

I’m no rush to convince people of the quality of my style, or even accept my vision as their own. On the other hand, I encourage admirers to express their appreciation, as well as critics, their complaints.

So consider this in an informal survey:

• What makes a good photo, in your eyes?
• Have any images you’ve seen before moved you?
• Does your life have room for art, in any medium?
