A photo a day, number 30: Pilgrims Await Sunrise
My last image from this series "A photo a day" was shot at the base of the Qullqipunkun glacier, high above the Sinakara Valley in Peru, nearly 16 000 ft above sea level.
These are pilgrims who will spend the night huddled around their candles, awaiting sunrise... at which point they will descend back down the mountain from this sacred glacier carrying with them a cross they planted in the ice the night before.
