Black, beautiful... and proud of it!

This is a Wreathed Hornbill.
It is mostly black, except for its pouch at its throat, which is white with a tinge of yellow and blue.
The most obvious feature is of course, its huge down-curving beak!
Because they do! 😂
Caught this stare when I tried to take its photo...
I couldn't resist as this was the closest I ever got to one!
Obviously, it isn't too happy with me...
It actually looks as if it is smiling for the camera
You think so?
Nahhhh... must be my imagination!
If I get any nearer, I can bet that beak would be painful

Hornbills are magnificent! My favourite is indiginous to us in South Africa, the Yellow Hornbill. When I lived in the game reserve we sighted them regularly. Beautiful photos @ackhoo!

Haha, not so sure about the colourful pouch... I think the females look the same, unlike some species where the females are plain... That's what I gathered, but didn't manage to find a definite answer...
