From 8000 to 16000 Feet! Trekking One Of the 10 Most Difficult Treks Of India <3(Part III)
Day 3 (26th June): Didna Village to Bedni Bugyal
Picture: Camp at Bedni Bugyal.
Okay, before I reach to this picture let's rewind to early morning that day. After a long rainy night, we woke up around 5:30 am and as usual had our hot tea. It was chilly compared to the previous morning and we were all decked up in no time.
Our little kettle <3
The rest of us packing up the stuff and getting ready to move.
We had been told the day before that it was gonna be little bit of a tough ascend through the jungles before we would see the meadows. And it was no surprise, it got steeper and steeper as we moved deeper into the woods. Nevertheless, the incredibly beautiful views were a big motivational factor for us to keep moving with less breaks. The entire jungle was covered in dry leaves and all I could hear was the sound of us walking on the leaves and some birds chirping in distance.
It was past 10 am and we were dying to get some food in our bellies but it was still a long way for us to earn it. Finally, we asked some locals if were gonna find any at all and it gave us great delight that we were nearing the resting point. We were exhausted by this point and everybody lay still on the grass as soon as we reached until our snack arrived. After a total of half an hour we resumed and found some really interesting flowers along the way. The below picture is of a strawberry bud... ( I think? )
After an hour we were reached this point where it started getting misty and we understood that we were slowly approaching the meadows. I couldn't help but be reminded of The Vampire Diaries when the mist would slowly cover some spots and disappear :D The next hour was simply about enjoying the beautiful scenery and avoiding roilling down the hills :P
The fog had gotten stronger by this point and to accompany it came the rains. We had our ponchos ready with us and I and @footlooselatika found a moment to steal after some dressing up. @komal seemed to thoroughly enjoy her walk ahead of us with haitchu by her side <3
If I remember correctly, this was by far THE MOST relaxing and gorgeous day (at least the second half) The name of this place was Ali Bugyal.
The time difference between these two pictures was almost about 5-8 seconds. In no time the entire fields were completely covered and I couldn't see any of my friends after that. We also kept checking simultaneously if everybody was together.
The rains ware very bad in the next 2 hours and the trails were all puddled. I remember struggling to wear my gloves as my fingers had gone a little numb! We were very near to out camp site but the only problem was we didn't know where exactly it was. We stood at a diversion not knowing which path to take when I and @komal saw some tents far away. We took a chance and went ahead in search for them. Eventually everyone followed and we were lucky to find Mr. Bhupendra smiling at our arrival.
We spent the next hour only on resting and waited for the others to reach. Our meal was being prepped alongside and the view at Bedni Bugyal couldn't have been better. ( first picture ) Slowly it got dark & misty and we soon had to use our head torches even at 7 pm. Our oxy master ( as I call him now ), @rovingman was ready with this oxymeter to take a check. Mind read something like this.
SpO2 % : 89 and Pr Bpm : 110.
I hope you guys enjoyed the third part in this series. Will be back with more exciting pictures from the base camp tomorrow! So stay tuned <3
