I have never seen them growing in the wild before I moved to this area last year. I am new to hunting mushrooms and want to learn more because I agree with you, they are very precious!
Yes, magical stuff the mushrooms. I had to look it up and we do have Chicken of the wood in Norway as well, but along the coast. I have never seen them either but several people I follow in north America talk about it and I would love to taste. let me know how you prepared them!
They taste great! I hope you can find them one day, i really like them. I plan to harvest this one in 2 or 3 days. We also have wild garlic, perhaps sautee the mushrooms and garlic with butter?
Yes, that sounds like a very good plan! In general I like to do just that with mushrooms, keep it simple, but love a little garlic added. Sounds perfect :-)
