It was during the Vietnam war that the hippie movement was at full flow and the slogans of peace, spread wide across America. People were done seeing voilence and started looking for a change.

That change came when the west started looking at the east with a hope of finding a path of towards their inner self. It's was during this time the world saw the "Hare Krishna Movement" go across New York , California and the rest of America under the leadership Vaishnav Monk named A.C Bhaktivendanta Swami Prabhupad. Along with this movement, the Hippies started turning into Monks to fullfil the change in lifestyle they always desired, thereby spreading the Movement even more rapidly. The Movement not just influenced lives of these Hippies , but also some famous personalities like George Harrison,Poly Styrene,Alfred Brush Ford,Allen Ginsberg, Don Foose and Steve Jobs.
Speaking of Steve Jobs, it was not just the Hare Krishna movement that he was associated to, but also the influence of books named "be here now" and "Autobiography of a Yogi" that connected him to Eastern Philosophy. It was this interest that drew him to India for six months during the auspicious year of Kumbh mela.

Today , while I was walking along the streets of Nasik,(one of the 4 locations of the Kumbh Mela) I saw this Vaishnav Monk standing elegantly across the road donning a Tulsi Mala around his neck and Vaishnav Tilak on his forehead. I looked at him and felt an Aura around him. It's this Aura which distinguished him from rest.
