Beautiful Vienna- The old Danube (Alte Donau) PHOTOGRAPHY
Vienna is a city with a lot of history, but many visitors don't find time to come and see the beautiful Danube. Here you will see photos from the old Danube (Alte Donau), a former river branch of the Danube.
It is more like a lake. In the summertime full of boats, swimming people, it feels much more like a summer vacation location than a big city.
Most of the photos are photographed from a boat in the water. I thought many of you have not been there and maybe could enjoy some summer feeling photos.
I love the way one can be very close to swans and ducks. This is not something, which is common in every country.

The first few photos especially do have that holiday town kinda vibe :) Our swans are black XD Did you have a nice day out boating?
Hey, thank you. This was last week. It was actually funny because I was afraid to take my camera on a pedal boat. We spent 3 hours in the water, the pedaling was super hard, we thought it was the heat. When we got back, they said the boat had a problem and we should have come back earlier and change it and they are happy we did not drown. I am glad we did it but I am not sure if I will repeat it soon;))
D: about the pedal boat! Also glad you didn't drown, that would have been a bit of a downer. Pedal boats should be pretty easy to drive! Well glad you enjoyed the experience anyway, difficult pedal boat notwithstanding :)

That would be a dream place to live. The romanticism it’s very realized in the photos.
water temp at the Alte Donau is currently over 26C. Are some of these pics from the Neue Donau also?
I live nearby - sometimes hang out at Birner across from the Angelibad.
Wow, Vienna looks amazing. Its always in competition with Melbourne for the worlds most livable city. I think Melbourne lost this year due to the fact that a man drove over several dozen ppl in Melbourne's CBD.
