SPRINGTIME ADVENTURES , episode 2 - A colorful coastline
These days I try to spend most of the time outdoors, searching for wild asparagus and photographing with a small compact camera, the explosion of colors and life in nature that surrounds me.
Yesterday I spent most of the day wandering thru the bushes and shrubs on the long stretch of the coastal slopes surrounding the bay of the town where I live.
During most of the year, this landscape is uniformly colored, dark green in winter or in shades of brown in the dry summer.
But these days the look of this place is dramatically changed.
Beautiful, vivid colors are everywhere.
Vivid colors and amazing, intricate shapes.
In a short time, less than a month, many plants on this rocky terrain, produce a great variety of flowers.
Leading to a great variety of insect and other invertebrates.
Life is everywhere, looks like flowers are breaking out directly from the lifeless stones.
Many rare, endemic species can be found here.
This short explosion of flowers amazes me every year like it is the first time.
These little wild orchids on the upper picture are some of my favorites.
There are so many small things to see, I can spend the whole day there and never be bored.

For people allergic to flowers this post could be lethal
And those who have a problem with insects could be seriously damaged
Yep, plenty of insects here
Look this micro flower...very small and beautiful
ants are here to ...
and bees...
...some spiders are beautiful almost as flowers on which they usually wait to ambush their prey
...and some petals are a beet eaten alive...
The wild figs are here to...
... yep...
...and some more insects...
...and white flowers...
...and insects...
...and flowers...
...and flowers with spines...
...and then there is this plant ...
...and this one...
...and some more white flowers in the afternoon with the sun getting low...
and maybe that's all

You are right with the plenty of insects on the flowers. The spiders are smart waiting for the insects to come to them and must be well fed.There is such a variety of flowers and you have taken some great shots.

such a huge collection of the macro photography of the nature couldn't be missed by me :) amazing work with the sun, shades and colors. I am curious about what kind of small compact camera did you use over there :)

It is absolute delight to go through all the photos with amazing flowers and insects. I do believe you would spend the whole day in such area with so many interesting things to capture. I would be for sure if I were you. Wild flowers are amazing and coexisting with bugs, it is a whole new world under our feet, you brought so nicely to our attention.

Such wonderful photos you have in there. Quite a nice collection. You will never realize that these amazing images just came from that vast landscape. So full of life. From afar, you can only see stretches of greenery but if you come closer, you will be amazed at what you may discover and that is what makes it amazing. You have an exemptional talent to showcase even the miniature creatures and I think it is what we needed if we want to give value to the world we live in.

I have never seen a post with so many different flowers and insects :) AND all of them are perfectly crisp! I so envy you the weather that you have over there. Just enjoy it as long as you can before everything will turn into that one color again :)
