Textures & Unexpected Bonuses

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

I love the way these Sage leaves look. They have such an amazing texture.
We have one living in our balcony and I caught these almost microscopic dew drops balancing on its leaves one of these days.
Another one of those mornings when I got up early to try to shoot the sunrise.

It feels good to get these little bonuses now and then. Even if the sky doesn't cooperate for some reason it always makes it worth to jump out of bed early any way!

African Violets... I'll be honest with you guys. In the beginning I didn't like them a bit, but that changed after I started to edit them in black and white and playing with their fury nature against the light. They're actually quite interesting plants to work with. Photogenic and with interesting textures.

In this next edit I decided to leave only the yellow anthers colored, contrasting with all the rest in black and white. The almost see through hairs on the leaves also add some extra touch and cute fuzziness to the image.

As a curiosity, I didn't know the flowers could change color but apparently they do. Depending on the watering and environment conditions. We had some gorgeous ones that first were burgundy, on the next blooming season they came up completely white, and on the third one they are double colored.

At least we don't get bored of them, right?

Nice job on this one

I can't recognise the sage. It looks like a succulent with an oversown hem. The African Violet is striking with the frills and hairs showing so clearly. The yellow middle makes it look evil. You are very talented.
