Fi-nal-lyyyy I'm getting down to the business! The single picture I posted the other day was just a warm up for the upcoming two episodes of Drive in South/West Norway. This is where the heart of the trip is: on the journey itself, where the road is as significant – if not more – than the destination. Enjoy.

Any idea which stave church that was (rough location)?
Doing some detective work from my pictures I can say that it is a 2.5 hour drive from Hokksund on the way to Edland.
Great clue, and I'll let you know if I come accross it in my studies on stave churches I have lined up for this Fall.

I do not live in Norway, but my interest in Roman (and Gothic) churches has lead me to take a closer look at these special type of churches, which also preserve a Nordic Mystical energy (Norse myth) which I find fortifies certain imagery of the New Testament, as a simultaeous development of a new larger-scale perception of the meaning of man as social being.
