Golden Cave: photos and legends

Samara region, Syreyka village. There is an interesting place near this village - "Golden Cave". It was discovered by speleologists in 1968. The entrance is a cleft in the rocky projection opening at the bottom of the funnel, which is the end of the karst log.

At the bottom of the crater there is a dip of 5-6 meters deep, in the depth of which is a small room. The passage from this room overlaps a small stone, similar to a crocodile's head. If you squeeze around this stone, then you fall into an inclined course. When the cave is dry, the course is filled with a suspension of white dust. During our visit, the cave did not dry out after the rains, so all the walls and floors were wet, there were small pools on the floor.

In general, the cave is an absorber of the stream flowing along the log during the period of melting snow and during heavy rains. The name of the cave was given because of the presence in the rock of a golden color - chalcopyrite, or copper pyrite. These minerals, called the people "golden deception". Although, in my opinion, the name “Icy” would be more suitable for the cave, since there is not very much pyrite in the walls, but there is a lot of white mineral that looks like ice.

The length of the cave is 65 meters, depth is 12 meters. At the far end of the cave there should have been a small underground lake, but we did not see it - the water flowed from it.

There are several legends about this cave. The first is that it is connected by a secret underground passage with a lake of uncertain depth, located in the center of the nearest village. In this lake, fed by an underground river, at the end of the XIX century, fragments of side plating of some mysterious ship surfaced ...

The second legend is that a cave was dug there, and mysterious animals (almost werewolves) "Ayura" are guarding something there. Outwardly, they resemble large shaggy dogs with a huge head and a disproportionately extended front paws. In the slopes of hills and ravines, they dig long holes. These creatures serve the "Master" - a certain magical creature.

Legend number three - "Golden Cave" dug out the "old robbers." There lies their treasure and even the "flying barrel."
