Redefining architecture
The prominent pillars of the ancient Parthenon stand representative of the rich history, ancient cultural traditions, and Greek mythological figures. The structures may be old like ancient roots, but they stand strong and symbolic for the Greek people as a whole. The Gods look down knowing the messages have been received, accepted, and passed on trans-generationally.
Now, more than ever, the pillars have strong meaning for those that simply come to visit. Tourists from all over the world understand the historical significance of such defiant artifacts. The meaning will always be prevalent in nature, even if something disastrous were to occur.
It was their early beginnings that paved way for many more significant figures to change the scope of architectural feats. Now look where we are. We shall thank our ancient ancestors for everything they did to make today possible.

I imagine seeing first hand is such an incredible experience as these constructions I doubt ever had the original intentions to may last this long. Also, considering the history that has taken place there must give one the chills.

I’m sure no one saw them persisting as long as they have. But I’m also sure they had intentions of creating something that would have infinite value for an eternity. Humanity has restored and refurbished the monuments, but they still have much of the original flavor they have boasted for years. It was a breathtaking experience atop the Acropolis to say the least
