Venetian Welcome ;) [From Traveler's Photo Album]

For a long time, this was the only entrance to Palaio Frourio or Old Fortress on Corfu, Grece. Diring Venetian rule, fort was heavily reconstructed, including entrance with thick walls, narrow double gates with guarder area between them. Not really surprising that conquering this fortress afterward was almost impossible task for conquerors of Corfu. Today, this peaceful passage leads to the another world of monuments and museums inside the pallace.
