A Girl & A Bus||Photography
I spent a good part of my day yesterday at a funeral and I happened to come across this matatu and I seized thw opportunity to give you guys a first hand matatu graffiti experience. If you remember well, I have shared about our Matatu Culture twice before. About how our public transportation buses are symbolised by over the top graffiti, loud music and so on.
Though this wasn't the best example of them all, it served the purpose and I hope you get an idea of whatvideo I mean. Usually the owner choose the theme mostly depending on things they love or are passionate about. Some may choose their favorite artists,but for this particular case, it seems like the owner is a Football Fanatic to say the least.

We have had the government and organizations trying to do away with this graffiti culture since some of them can be very obscene and vulgar but I guess it's just one of those cultures you can't take away from passionate arts. Further more it's a very big business for talented graffiti arts, some people make a living of of it.
You know, I watched Sense8 on Netflix, and one of the main characters is from Nairobi. That's how I learned about Matatu culture! I love it, and although I can't judge the series on that aspect since I'm not raised in Nairobi, I felt like it was SUPER authentic! Love that you're sharing this with us :D
I loved the first buses you featured, and the art was astounding, I still find it very beautifully done art. No reason transportation has to be so bland, we need more artistic buses and less ugly advertising square signs.
