Last Significant Snowfall of Winter, I hope! (Original Photos)
On Wednesday night my area got what I hope is the last significant snowfall of this winter season.
When I woke up on Thursday morning (7 March 2019) this was the picture I saw out my back window.

Overnight the snow added another 5 inches (12.7 centimeters) on top of what was already on the ground.
The snow was light and easy to move. With the wind blowing, it is easier to shovel the snow than blow it around with a snow thrower. It took about two hours to shovel out my driveway.
When I woke up Friday morning a warm and moist air mass was moving into the area. The cold snow held a layer of the moist air as fog just above the ground.

The warm air mass moving into the area rose the temperatures above freezing and marked the beginning of the great melt to come.
This is a picture taken Friday of the piles of snow in my neighborhood.

The great melt has officially started. The weather forecast for the next 10 days predicts high temperatures well above freezing with intermittent rain through the first day of spring.

Thank you!
Very beautiful photos and it happens at the beginning of spring, when winter tries to stay!
An excellent review @etcmike and we, too, by the way, it is snowing, but I am sure that spring will lift its own!
Oh yes @etcmike, it looks like this is the last attacks of winter!
You live in such a beautiful place I must say lucky man!
Yes, it is a very nice place here.
This area is fortunate enough to have one extra season too. Everyone gets spring, summer, fall, and winter. But here the one extra season is "pothole season". It is impossible to drive anywhere without hitting a pothole on the road.
Have a great weekend!
Steem on,
Mike
