Frosty Morning and Autumn Colours

in #photography6 years ago

Finnish autumn is in full swing and giving its best in the mornings. The air is fresh and crisp, temperature hovering around sub zero and the mood is very peaceful. Vapour is rising from the surface of the lake and the ground is lightly frosted. As soon as the sun hits the leaves on the trees and the ground, the frost melts, revealing the brightest orange and red colours.

Shot with the Nikon D7200 and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8.

Those are beautiful mornings. (and beautiful shots). I love the odd day I am up and out when the sun is just coming up and there is a bit of mist and all is quiet. The feeling IS truly peaceful. I really like how you showed the feeling of stillness and quiet.

Thank you very much. How ever hard waking up early feels, if we are rewarded with a beautiful morning, it's definitely worth the pain of getting up and out.

Fuck yeah. This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and never ever letting us down ❤️

Cool ... I like this warm color and mist :))

Nice serene environment hope to cash up summer vacation soon in Finland.... Nice pix @evenuncovered you are becoming a good photographer LOL!

Nice work. I wonder if the results could have been even better had you shot just the lake and the mist. Do you have an objective with a much longer focal length than the one you used here? If you do, it may allow you to capture particularly appealing but transient lighting conditions on the lake from your balcony.

Maybe, maybe not, but I wanted to capture the surroundings this time. I do have a Nikkor lens that goes up to 200mm, but it's not as good quality as the Sigma. It's basically the same if I were to use the Sigma at 100mm, and crop to get closer.

That's quite a difference in quality.

That might actually be a fun idea to do a proper comparison of Nikkor at 200mm vs. Sigma at 100mm but cropped to get the same pictures as with the Nikkor!
