Reindeer safari photos, part #1

in #photography5 years ago

Hello!

Last week when me and the boys were in Lapland, I booked a reindeer safari for us. We were supposed to go downhill skiing, but because Leo hurt his hand tobogganing earlier, I thought we'd better not risk further injuries so I called it off.

At least we had the reindeer sleigh ride to look forward to. :)

Personally I was kind of disappointed, for the safari consisted of 1 hour of sitting in a sleigh, seeing nothing but snow and trees. But it wasn't a total loss, as I managed to take a couple of pretty good photos when we exited the forest for a quick roundabout on the bog or swamp where it was less cluttered with trees.

I was sitting with Miro in the last sleigh, so I could take a quick snapshot of Leo who was alone in a sleigh front of us.

Happy face

Leo had his injured fingers taped together so I lent him my mittens in exchange for his gloves, but when we arrived at the reindeer farm he told me he had only taken one glove with him because of his taped together fingers. I was almost certain my hands would get frozen by the time we got back from the sleigh ride. Fortunately I managed to loan a pair of gloves from the organizers.

Nice scenery captured from the sleigh.

I'm running out of time now, so I'll post part #2 later.

See ya!

These are really splendid shots! I really like the one of Leo looking over his shoulders at you. Such a precious moment.

The first one with the reindeer round up there, all hooked up and ready to go - that is a classically brilliant composition and shot. I would be tempted to send it in somewhere. Despite you being able to do this, I am drooling at the opportunity to do that.

Killer shots.

I am glad you took them and despite all that happened, they will remember the good time they had, even the one glove you ended up with and the love in which he recieved mittens for one glove. You did great, Dad.

@gamer00,
What kind of animals that you were wish to see there? Ops it's not only a loss to you, it's a loss to all of us! Coz of your great photography!

Cheers~

It is a pity that because of the injury you did not ski, but now you have experience with deer. Beautiful photos

This is classic black and white photos. I wish Leo recover soon from his injured finger.

Wow this is amazing journey and you captured awesome pics .

These are great shots!!!! It is nice to be in nature, even if it is cold :-) but glad you got him some gloves!

Wow that beautiful all the photos, and that emocionate should be for the children that experience. My two daughters were very excited to see this picture. They asked me where it is, and they want to go ..

I told them the truth that that could not be soon but someday it could be.

Greetings friend Jaro.

Beautiful deer. An interesting message. With children, something always happens at the wrong moment :)

Some things you have to do just for the sake of doing them. Even if it wasn't as exciting as you'd hoped, how many people can add a reindeer safari to their life list? I would definitely do it if I ever get out that way!

The photos looks amazingly stunning and beautiful , this is really an awesome experinece
