Textures Experiment

Printed Textures

A lot of us love to experiment with new things in the creative space, one of the recent ideas I had isn't really anything new, it's more of a fun thing to try out.

I've got this watch that almost never leaves my wrist and wanted to see how hard it is to create a decent looking watch image like the ones we see in adverts all around.

Textures. That was pretty much my first thought, so I started looking for interesting textures and colors I could mix and match and simply print on an A4 paper. I did exactly that as you may see below.

With a single small led light and a little bit of retouching, the below results were created. It was a really fun experiment is trying to see how realistic the prints would be, some of you might notice the printer lines on the black textures which can be avoided if you used a better printer.

I'd be intrigued to see what experiments you've done, so leave them in the comments below.

that certainly turned out very nicely. Its fun to be creative and experiment like that! nice one!

Thank you! What's fun also is to always try and make the process so simple. It's like trying to be a great developer by using the least code possible to achieve the same results as a complicated one.

yes, always take the path of least resistance

I like these DIY shots :) great work!
Nice watch by the way :p

They're quite fun, especially when the result is actually better than what you expected. Haha, cheers!
