Peeled urban aesthetics
There is always a reason to let the aesthetics lose its brilliance. It is usually a non-sense research to find out the reason because the reason reveals almost always of the human absurdity. Humans are disarmed in the presence of beauty, there are no words nor thoughts, there is only surrender. Aesthetics, beauty, become easily a secret source of constant fear. Humans cannot afford the conservation of the aesthetics such as they cannot stand it in the middle of their grey and flat everyday life. Certainly, a beautiful urban structure is able to regulate the collective mood but at the same time, it accentuates the contrast between common houses without any sign of personality, inherited beauty, aesthetics, and spirituality. The aftermath is the humans to be afraid of a beautiful structure, of a beautiful elegant woman or of a handsome elegant man, of a beautiful house, of anything that could remind their miserable reality, their personal miserable reality. A fear mixed to admiration. A fear never confessed by people but proved by the collective acts and choices. Aesthetics is the essence of beauty, that's why it's always the first to be denied by humans and the last to die. In the photo, we observe the slow peeling of aesthetics. The abandonment of the beautiful building with the usual pretext of lack of resources may hide the revenge of kitsch. Εxcessive garishness seems to be the rule of our modern times. There are always funds for the glory of the poor taste because people appreciate what fits their poor taste reality. Thus, we assist to the slow peeling of the aesthetics thanks to our pathetic acceptance of the dominant kitsch trend.
