Reminiscent of its' Former Glory

Its' pastel blue paint fading away, the roof's gone with the upper floor woodwork falling off, since my grade school life, this house has been empty. Called a haunted house by us kids, we were scared to pass-by this house come night fall. With a complete roof then, a glance in every window and its' door showed all black and eerie, but compared to yesterday, the last typhoon has blown off some roof revealing some color, letting some daylight in. Yesterday was the only chance that i've ventured nearer its' garden walls. To me just then, its' just a decaying and neglected old house.

A typical spanish house similar to some houses at the center of town with a concrete lower floor and wooden upper floor, i can't help but imagine how it could have looked during its' glory days. This house looked a lot more grand if i have to compare it to the other old spanish houses around, even in our neighbourhood. With its' huge windows, a few only have the same shape and size. If you can notice what's hanging above its' doorway, i have not seen a lot of that.

Strip those concrete and brick walls will be revealed, all sturdy and reliable, still standing since mid-15th century. Am only assuming as that's when our town was founded, being made as an extended part of Vigan, the capital of the province. This house am sure was full of history, its' owners having had colourful stories. Perhaps? I don't know why but at some point yesterday, this house made me feel nostalgic.
