The National Wallace Monument (One "must" in Scotland)
The National Wallace Monument is one of Stirling’s most distinctive landmarks, overlooking the scene of Scotland’s victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge.
One of the places most I loved when I visited Scotland was William Wallace's Tower. It was very impressive for me: the steep stone stairs, the distant view, the stone wear by the 700-year-old wind... I invite all of you to know more of this monument with these photos and a small text extracted from its website.
Over 700 years ago, tyranny and terror were the tools being used by England to rule Scotland. Occupied and oppressed, the Scottish nation sought a hero to challenge the cruelty of King Edward I. This hero was William Wallace, who has his rising in The Battle Of Stirling Bridge.
