Overcoming prejudices ... Pole Dance. Part 2

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

Welcome again! ... In the first part, I told you a little about this practice and put some photos of a simple photo session. In this second part I will continue telling you about my experience with this group of girls plus an interview with one of them. Keep reading and discover more.

We started at 8:00 a.m., the girls necessarily have to warm up (like any other sport to avoid injuries) lasted between 15-20 min; then we started talking to each other saying what figure they can make for the photos, and speaking his respective "technical" . They talked about butterfly figure, cocoon, scissors, anyway, I just limited myself to see and wait for the photo (laughs). These girls to practice this sport, they must have strength, flexibility, resistance, it may seem simple, but it has its complexity, and it can take a year to fully dominate.

INTERVIEW

-1.-Since when do you practice pole dance?

Already one year and six months.

-2-What is it that draws your attention to this practice?

The confidence that gives to women and the styling that creates, coupled with it is a sport that defies self-imposed limits

-3-Did you start practicing for ...? A friend, tv, photo ..?

Because it caught my attention and when I started to see the figures and how beautiful it looks. I decided to try it even though I never considered myself a sports or acrobatic woman.

-4- If you liked ... Why did not you motivate yourself to practice it before?

Do not motivate me because I felt sorry and I always stopped what they will say about the fame that this sport has ... as you know it was always seen as the women's dance to which they pay for certain services (erotic)

-5- How is the group you practice with?

We are like a family, where the most advanced give tips so that the figures come out more stylized. Additionally we encourage each other and if it is about photos we are almost like the penguins of Madagascar to make the strategy and photos (laughs).

-6-What kind of comments do your friends make, both men and women?

Of all kinds, since beautiful, until Naguara (venezolan expression) is difficult, even to the typical that sexy and other comments not pleasant.

7-and the strangers?

there are some unimportant comments and others of the type: "uy it must be good to see you dancing"

-8- Is that kind of comment frustrating for you?

If it is annoying, because you look at the morbid and you do not see it for what it is ... a sport.

9-What messages would you give to the general population?

Do not get carried away by the one who will say ... If it catches your attention try it, it's a complete sport just like swimming and if a figure does not come out do not leave it, the pole is an exercise in perseverance and perseverance, a Once you achieve it, you feel a unique motivation and a feeling of continuing to progress.

And that's how my little experience ends, let's learn to not have unjustified prejudices, just because "the majority" thinks it's good or that it's bad. We have to have our own criteria based on the research, not the doubt or the system.
