Oedipus' story, besides being curious, is also yet another reflection of that complex web of causalities - mathematical, after all, if we take into account the complicated theories of modern Physics, which warn of certain patterns of organization even in Chaos - with which that restless mocking spirit, which we supposedly call Destiny, organizes the protocol acts of our beatitudes and miseries.

Apart from his encounter with the Sphinx, Oedipus is blamed for that aberrant behavior, which masked behind the polite disguise provided by the complex word, usually represents an egocentric activity, mainly practiced by royalty, since the dawn of time: incest.

But there are many who really forget two fundamental questions in Oedipus'; story, such as the complete innocence of not being aware of having married his own mother and, above all, the meaning of his name: swollen feet.

I will not insist on the first of the questions - Sigmund Freud did so with a certain sufficiency when he accused Leonardo Da Vinci in every detail, based on a dream and the enigmatic smile of the Mona Lisa - but I will throw a spear in favour of this metaphor of life, which is the journey and to remember, for all those who want to keep them in mind, those verses of the poet Antonio Machado, who speaking to the traveller -that is, to that humanity, traveller by default, even if it does not move from the living room of his house- warned him that there is no way, because there is no way by walking.

Perhaps the Sphinx did not really commit suicide, according to the story, when Oedipus got his riddle right and was simply the victim of that ignoble Medusa, which is oblivion.
