Now this will get a little bit controversial. While I TRULY LOVE FLOWERS, i actually HATE to see so many flower porn posts [FPPs] getting huge rewards on steemit. I know this will put some of people off, but i have to go on with my ƦĄnⓉ and i will tell you why i think posting flowers is bad and lame for everyone.

But let's get this straight first: Who am I to tell you to stop posting flowers on a platform that is supposed to be uncencorable? Everybody should just go on posting what she/he/it wants, period. But i would love to see the value of flower photography posts [FPP] diminish and adjust to its real value or less.

What i want you to consider is:

• Flowers are bad for you

• Refrain from upvoting posts that contains mediocre flower porn

• Flower Porn Posts [FPPs] are bad for all of us

• Adjust your bots and trails, stop circle jerking on flowers

• Keep calm and avoid flowers

Here's why:

Flowers are lame, because:

• it's a low hanging fruit. it's just too easy to head to the park and snap some lilies. Yes, it's a little bit more clever than cloud-mining bitcoins, but not that much. The Flower Porn Reserve [FPR] will dry out soon. Try harder.
• Flowers can't move, they don't have issues, always pretty. It's an easy target to get. Everybody can do it. You can do better and you have to — because soon anybody will do better than this. It's called competition and flowers don't compute very well.
• There's not very much value to a scroll of flower porn pictures, because information density is low. After all what can/do flowers tell us?
• Actually, a picture of a flower in the year 2017 will tell us only this: "I used to be just a beautiful flower, but i became an asset on a social blockchain network [SBN] thanks to some bloke who gambled my devine beauty for rewards. It didn't work out."

Flower Porn Posts [FPPs] are bad for all of us because:

• It will hurt steem's price badly when somebody finds out that 12.4% of a $970 million market cap is backed by ordinary flower porn pics [FPPs]
• There's not much value to random mediocre flower shots. It puts people off when they see that sub-quality content is highly rewarded. It makes steemit look like a scam.
• Indeed it makes the look of Steemit quite offputting to a designer's/artist's/photographer's eye.
• Flowers suck up the reward pool and prevent great, truly original content to be rewarded accordingly.

There's evidence that flowers don't pay out

• Have you ever tried to apply for art school or to a photo competition with your flower power shots? No? Lucky you, because flowers are the number one disqualifier.
• Ever heard of Tulip Mania? It was a period in the Dutch Golden Age during which prices for tulips reached extraordinarily high levels and then dramatically collapsed. True story, says Wikipedia
• Last time i checked my timelines on instagram, twitter, facebook and medium i haven't seen ANY flowers at all. I hardly see any flowers anywhere on the web. Maybe that makes steemit special. If that's true we live in a flower bubble. Good luck and thanks for the fish.
• Flowers may trick you. They may make you believe that the man on the picture below is out of his mind. But although he's wearing a suit with tulips printed on, the guy is actually very smart, witness, and steemfest organizer!

What you can do to stop the Flower Porn Bubble [FPB]

• Step back from FPPs

• Stop upvoting flowers, it inflates the bubble

• Don't ask what a flower can do for you, ask yourself what makes flowers flourish

• Pay someone to give you a bouquet of flowers and make someone else happy

• Flowers ARE beautiful: Go out and smell, eat and kill them but refrain from 📵 and 📷 . (There's already enough)

• Post whatever you want, but please stop putting "HQ", "High Quality" or "Original" in title or the body of your post

• Make people aware. If appropriate comment on flower posts with the STOP FLOWER PORN Badge provided below

• Be alert. Watch out for bubbles.
