Beach Tuesday. The Pampatar bay.

  We continue on this tour of the beautiful beaches on Margarita Island, today it is the turn of the Pampatar Bay. Pampatar Bay is one of the most valued locations on the Margarita island, not only because it is one of the oldest, but because of its historical value.

  Its status as a port, with deep and calm waters, allowed in the sixteenth century the arrival of large boats to the island, which opened a gap to the colonization of the place. In its adjacencies two works of great historical value that date from the Spanish colonial period are imposed; the impressive Castillo de San Carlos Borromeo, also known as Castillo de Pampatar and the famous Fortín de la Caranta.
