Freight Train
If you want to photograph or shoot videos of trains in Finland, you should check out Julia and their live map of trains in Finland based on GPS tracking. This time I was a bit early. This track is in use by freight trains only. It is between the port of Loviisa about 80 km to the south of Lahti. One train per day runs to the south in the morning. After being loaded, it returns to Kouvola, an important railway junction and logistical centre about 70 km east of Lahti.
The train looks longer than usual.

Very nice photos! You have the patience and stamina for cold weather shooting! How come the first three photos seem to have very clear lighting and clean look?!

The temperature wasn't particularly cold and wouldn't have been a problem in even if it had been considerably colder.
I had to process the last few ones because the bright headlight of the engine affected the exposure required quite heavily. I had to reduce the difference in exposure between the well-lit parts of the picture and those in the dark. If I had done nothing, you'd have seen a bright light with everything a shadow around it. It could've been remedied by shooting two pictures with differrent exposures but the train was moving ... The dirty look is caused by the editing software increasing what little light the sensor got from the dark areas which makes for greater graininess in those parts.

Wow! Thank you very much for enlightening me on the subject! Your camera and software are very good with all these abilities to bring balance to your captured photos!
I still have a lot to learn about digital photography and software editing of photos!
