Kaukajärvi

We used to live not too far from this lake until about six years ago. It's nice to visit familiar places.

There was a happening of a sort going on. Turned out it was the local resident's association throwing a party. The theme was going swimming for the first time this year. Because of the recent cool and windy weather, the water is too cold for me, about 10-15 C.

It seems to be winding down. It was about eight pm.

I took a walk around a small cape next to the beach.

What the hell? How did that tree end up in the lake??

There were other trees on these strange little islands. The lake must be eroding the shoreline. You don't see this type of thing very often.

This one is about to fall.

There is a rowing venue on the north shore of the lake. This is part of the infrastructure.
